The Bus Stop

Clare Andrews | United Kingdom

The Bus Stop is a wordless picture book aimed at all age groups. I wanted to capture a brief moment of kindness between a child and a lonely elderly character. This elderly woman sits here everyday feeding the birds, as people come and go and barely notice her. The girl is interested in the birds and moves nearer to watch. They share a moment of fun, feeding the birds together until the bus arrives and the girl leaves. As the bus pulls away she smiles and waves, to the delight of the elderly woman. My aim is to remind us that a kind gesture, however small can go a long way.
