Stilts, Bears and Skeletons:
A Book about Dances from all over the World
Stilts, Bears and Skeletons, a non-fiction book for all ages depicts 15 different dance forms from around the world including ritualistic and ceremonial dances of tribal and other pagan communities and forgotten indigenous dances
that were recently revived to convey political messages. Varying movement sequences across the page in giclee and screenprint and different typefaces developed for each dance complement every dance’s character. Researching these dances revealed striking visual similarities between them, recurring archetypes, that are testimony of a ‘collective unconscious’.
