The Loddon Dragon project.
The writer - Abbie Lawrence.
The illustrator - Kat Sokolova.
This story is about the dragon who lives underneath the library.
The roots of the story begin in the little town Loddon, nearby Norwich, and the illustrations are also inspired by the town look and vibe, and some town details can be actually recognised in the illustrations.
The aim of the story is to breathe a spark of magic not just into the local communities in Norfolk but across the UK (and the Globe) making a visit to the library exciting and wonderous for all ages.
This story has so much potential in its current form and for a future sequel or series. There is a new tale coming, in which library elves transport books down to the dragon's cave for him to devour the words written.
As the story was initially designed to be used in a drama lesson it is designed to be interactive and it has been an absolute pleasure to see that this works fantastically well. The story was told with children helping in a number of settings and there are more workshops lined up in the coming months.
