„I am the Forest“ is a poetic picturebook, in which an ancient forest narrates its life and reminisces about past, present and its purpose. The forest is loosely based on the Białowieża forest, which is located in Poland/Belarus and its tumultuous history.
Accompanied by fragmented illustrations the forest opens up to a visitor and takes both reader and visitor on a journey trough its life. The story aims to be an inviting representation of the „non-human“- narrators perspective and highlights the complex passing of time in a visual way.
