In the Beginning, is a non-fiction picture book about the evolution of life from the beginning to present day. Most spreads represent a different era and showcases a variety of species as well as focuses on simple delivered information to create a cohesive narrative of how life adapted.
The aim of the book is to teach and entertain with vibrant and playful illustrations that life began as a single cell, how it adapted in the waters, progressed on to land, the journey to the dinosaurs and their untimely demise to present day, and that there will be more to come.
Rather than be information heavy, the intention is to lightly inform and nurture an initial interest in nature and science.
