Picnic at the Pumpkin Patch is an autumnal story for three to five year olds , which deals with themes of friendship and fear. I wanted to write something that helps strengthen empathy and acceptance, and also tackles the overwhelming fear that young children often have of the unknown.
We follow four friends trying to make their way to the Picnic at the Pumpkin Patch. On their journey they encounter lots of strange and seemingly frightening creatures which they try to escape from. When they eventually arrive at their destination, they meet the creatures again and realise they were also on the same journey.
