This book tells the story of a child who has been taken from his home in the countryside and forcefully recruited by the monster of war to fight. It is the life story of thousands of children in Colombia, who have been recruited by force, and have no other choice but to go to a war that they do not understand.
I could make this book thanks to a grant that was given to me by the Museo Casa de la Memoria de Medellín in Colombia. To tell this story I interviewed six people who were forcefully recruited during their childhood, by different groups in the Colombian inner armed conflict. From their testimonies I synthesized the information to write a more suitable story for children. But also one that is honest enough to show them the truth about so many children that could be like them, but did not have the same privileges and, because of that, have had to endure the most difficult circumstances.
